Always a good evening when the Forumites get together; good to meet up again.
Thanks Howard (glad I could be of assistance) for giving the reason for the do and Paul, Colette, Jan and Barry (all of whom I'm sure, contributed to its success).
Roger

Blakes seems to be a very good place to bury the hatchet. [sure to be hatchet sale soon]. Thank you Howard for letting us all know that you arrived home safe and sound, I know I slept better for knowing that.

Well here I am finally surfacing. Glad everyone had a great night and am particularly pleased at that...because it was Howard's night. Im going through the pictures as I speak. Colette B as ever did most of the necessary with the camera and here are a couple of her pictures to be going on with..will have more on the frontpage in due course...And yes these ones feature the man himself....
Howard getting the drinks in..this is the view from the other side of the bar at Blakes.
During the evening Howard's No 1 fan the lovely Oceanne turned up to give him her full support.
These pictures by ColetteB.
Great to see all the old familiar faces turning up for the event. The Tories, the Labourites, the Libdems, and those who aint too shure, and all getting on sooo well. You wouldnt believe it was the same guys arguing the toss on here. Well done all. Thanks to Colette who does all the organising of these things with her little helpers, and well done Peter and Kathryn as ever at Blakes.

A Great night

Good to see so many familiar faces and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Howard you deserved the praise after all the hard work that you have put in to the forum.
Thanks for the lift Ted, like the new car and it's blue

You should have let Una sit in the back and then I could have had two lovely ladies to cuddle

I seem to remember there was going to be a presentation to you Howard, what did you get?????
I ended up having a lousy birthday as I had a splitting headache so cancelled the family meal and went to bed early.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I am so sorry you couldnt enjoy your meal , hopefully when you feel better you can reschedule
Ps Jan T , I really want your red shoes

sorry to hear that jan, us over 40's suffer with headaches.
i received a plaque celebrating the thread, this is now taking centre stage on the mantlepiece next to my only other trophy.
that was when i won a badminton competition about 20 years ago, thankfully my opponent sprained his ankle in the semi final and couldn't play.

intrigued by the reference to red shoes by jan and sarah!!
talking of red the top photo in post 90 features a man in a red shirt that i cannot place, i can recognise roger, nigel and i think tom with his back turned.
It was the stunning brooch that Jan was wearing Howard , I covet it . By the way you have 2 more trophies than I do
