Just in case there is/was some confusion over what this group was set up for, this may help.
1. The Project Advisory Group was established with specific terms of reference to advise the Cabinet on the quality, design, scale, form and function of the proposals up to submission of planning. Planning has been now been approved, so the Group has not met recently but is still extant should further consideration be needed on issues relating to design proposals.
2. All matters relating to the development are reported to the Scrutiny (Community and Regeneration) Committee, which is held in public.
3. The Leader of the Council has also updated full Council on matters relating to the development, again information which is all in the public domain.

That'll be the only bloody hole that is being dug on the DTIZ site then....

Thanks Roger, is that
A Damage limitation
B Crisis Management
C Managing expectations
I can picture the good and the great of DDC scurrying around and issuing that email to Roger.
No wonder they don't want to hold a public meeting.

Roger, according to the MOD.gov application, the Project Advisory Group (St James Area Development) has never published any agenda or minutes, which would seem at odds with with your point 1.

Referring to Roger's point 2 above, and being a sad old git with an eye for nit-picking detail, I've gone through the online minutes and agendas of the Scrutiny (Community and Regeneration) Committee mentioned, but lost the will to go further after I could find no mention at all of the DTIZ being referred to that committee as far back as 5th Oct 2010. I might be wrong, I'm glassy-eyed by now.
If anyone wants to go though the full council minutes referred to in point 3 I suggest they have a bottle of grog at hand

try the town council minutes ray, much easier, they just delete stuff that they don't want people to see.

I wish they would delete the town clerk as well.

What ever I post on here you are going to pick holes in; is it worth me posting anything ?
I am and always have been as honest as I know how, maybe now because I am a Conservative Councillor and David is a UKIP Candidate, I will always be a target for him to shoot at.
I'm not frightened of fair criticism, but unnecessary jipes are pointless.

rather an unfair post roger, before you joined the blues you almost took over the old forum with your attacks on the reds.
you did promise that all the things closed under them would be re-opened, hasn't happened though.

The simple answer Roger is to shoot back.
I always thought that politicians were fair game and learnt how to take the flack then fire back, seems I was wrong.

Roger, despite your protestations I am never personal. It is clear that yesterday you made a crass mistake and later, after consultation with hierarchy issued a retraction of sorts. That's how the silly world we're in works.
As jan points out, you and I have CHOSEN to lift our heads above the parapet, I can assure you I get far more stick than you do but I'm comfortable with the principles of the party I represent. I'm very new to this game so really it's inappropriate to give advice but it might be sensible to remember that regeneration is the biggest story in town. Therefore, councillors making ill judged and irresponsible remarks are going to be attacked.
To be honest roger it seems you've been in the game too long and it's worn you down, you're a decent bloke who's worked very hard but you and your pals at DDC have run out of gas.
And deep down you know that.
I'm very happy to meet up at your convenience, I bear no malice to anybody, but the whole town is sick and tired of this debacle called DTIZ and this thread epitomises the shambles that is DDC.
I'm outside the town council this morning, pop along to see me. Best wishes.

Getting back to the topic years ago in my drinking days the Castle inn was one of the top pubs in the town and the news readers on the Tv when in Dover used it so did the stars on the stage of the p/house round the corner in the late 1950s and 1960s I was always going in there seeing the names of the day there David Whitfield was just one of them.

Sorry bit late on this one but spoke to Paul McMullan and he insists he doesn't know who put the pub up on that website and that he is in Dover "for the long haul"...

We will have to wait and see but if the Castle is to stay I for one would like that to happen with all the build that might go up all round it will need a big face lift and have a good food restaurant with it then the owner will make a good living out of it '
Without doing it I am sorry to say it could end up like most have in Dover just a name in the pass and only will be seen on a old postcard.

About time this Inn was up for sale, I popped in there this time last year and asked for a pint of ale, the publican said that beer was only available in bottles the taps were just for show

I declined as I prefer draft.

Obviously easier having bottles that anyone can open than having to employ someone who knows how to tap a barrel and clean the pipes etc.
