He might be lucky, it occupies something like a ransom strip in the heart of the DTIZ. But probably not. As a going concern it's worth £200k max.

It is interesting that he thinks now is the time to sell. He must feel that DTIZ is about to take off. I hope he's right.

It won't be valued on its importance to the DTIZ, just as a going concern. Is it part of the CPO process does any one know ?

Thanks Kevin.
I thought that some of the businesses in Castle Street were involved too ?

That is a silly asking price for a building in such a tatty state especially when compared with this local B&B at almost half the price, even though their turnovers are different.

Roger, you are one of the four members of the
Cabinet Committee overseeing the DTIZ project - shouldn't you be telling us what is happening instead of the other way round?

Roger, I'm absolutely astounded you have written that. As Ray points out, you are 1 of 4 who is overseeing the planning development of the DTIZ and you are asking for information on a public forum.
I am speechless

Ooooh Anne you are hurtful
You coming along to see me tomorrow?
I'm still struggling to comprehend what Roger posted, this from a Cllr who objected to the petition because it would hinder progress. Mr Watkins and other DDC officials look in here scrupulously, I'm sure they'll clear things up.

I wasn't asking if it is part of the DTIZ, but part of the CPO process and that would not be part of the information I am a party to, or need to be.
I know that Blakes was part of that and your business premises too David and of course County Hotel and Burlington House, but not others. CPO's and the business involved are not the responsibility of the Planning Committee members.

My property is not part of any CPO, unfortunately.
Roger you appear to be digging a hole here. You are part of the Project Advisory Group, it is ludicrous to suggest that as part of that group you don't need information on the CPO.
Incidentally, the other 3 members are Paul Watkins, Nigel Collor and Sue Nicholas. I'm curious what experience these individuals have in advising councils on projects of this kind.

I am not digging a hole at all David.
That group hasn't sat for probably a couple of years and there were Labour Councillors on it too. If my memory serves me correctly, when the main P/P was granted, the committee ceased to meet or exist.

Roger I'm totally confused, what is Ray's link all about?

All the more reason to have a public meeting to clear up all these confusions and have a real timetable that is public and which the public can hold their elected reps accountable to. Of course, with a 'hard copy' timetable there will be variations because things change and unforeseen problems and hiccups arise, but if these are visible and are caused with good reason rather than incompetence, then the public may be more generous and forgiving than some might think.
Not too long ago I did a disaster/emergency control and planning course and all the advisers on the course stressed the absolute requirement for full and frank disclosure to the general public to retain public confidence and maintain their full cooperation, which in turn would help mitigate the disaster's adverse impacts on the general public and allow for smoother control and recovery. Withholding of relevant information, hiding in complexity and underestimating the public's ability to understand were all severe no-no s. What's different for a public realm improvement project? - not a lot really except for commercial sensitivities around detailed contract terms.

Roger, according to the council website that group is still extant but has never met - or the information about its meetings is being withheld from the public.
Surely it should be continuously monitoring progress, even more so after planning permission has been granted as that is when serious activity will (or should!) take place, and then keeping the public up to date on that progress.
