# 36..another ``twerp``right winger Aidan Burley MP is just an example of the many
right wingers who are self-opinionated...vain..conceited..obstainately insistent of their
own opinion..I..my..me..narrow minded..high regard of themselves...rude..insulting..
.Burley is a continuous reminder of their reputation...Bullingdon look-a-likes.....
says a lot about right wingers...none of it good.....

Says a lot about politicians of every leaning, Reg. The skills and other attributes required to get elected to a public post are very different from those required to do the job. Getting elected requires salesmanship, ruthlessness, guile and a burning personal ambition. Doing the job requires high intellect, determination, total honesty and integrity, and an acceptance that personal ambition has to be put aside. Combining both sets of qualities in one individual is very rare indeed. I can't think of a front-bencher in any party at present who demonstrates both. To find such a person in the Labour camp we have to go back to John Smith; Enoch Powell and Iain MacLeod for the Tories and possibly David Penhaligon for the Liberals, who unfortunately killed himself in a road accident.

Aidan Burley Conservative MP......and why the Tory Party needs to tackle
bigotry`head on.
The Conservative Party who supported apartheid in South Africa are still troubled by
it`s Cabinet Ministers, members and MP`s frequently bringing the Party into disrepute.
The situation presents a dilemma for Cameron who is seen as a raving vigilante
`lefty` by the hard right of the Party and he now needs to decide who he panders to
more.
In the wake of Burley`s track record he would want to send out a clear message to
the `right wigers`that cheap and distaseful comments should not be made by high
ranking MP`s.
Surely if the Tory Party want to move forward they need to tackle the bigotry head
on by sending his message out that it will not be tolerated.........

The independent article is correct
failed cameron needs to decide where he is with his party, and its direction, and stick to that plan
we never had these problems even with maggie, she made her plan and went for it.
with failed cameron you have no idea whre hes coming from and what policiesa he will stick by, what direction hes going, whether he will pander to the lib dems,
or his ultra right wing back benchers

As indeed is the case in Spain.
The black economy thrives.
It is no surprise that in EU countries including UK ,the majority of disruption comes from public sector employees [or quasi public sector groups ].

how does it thrive though, nowadays computers at dwp should be picking up on this as employers nowadays demand an n.i number and proof of residence/entitlement to work?

small beer most of those paul, companies employing home workers insist on paying by cheque and posting to the workers home address in most cases.
i cannot see how the rest can make enough to make it a vast fraud.
furthermore the article is about people signing of j.s.a. tradesman working cash in hand are normally self employed with accountants. any attempt for them to sign on would be flagged up by either hrmc or dwp.

Babysitter. Window cleaner. Car washer. The chap who delivers your logs. Most of these people wouldn't be paying tax anyway even if they declared their income. Ultimately they are losing out through not accruing years of contributions towards their pension.

I know someone who lives in Spain and earns cash from teaching people to speak English (she is qualified to do this, but it suppliments her income quite well).

i still cannot see how all this really affects the unemployment figures people like window cleaners and car washers do not sign on unless they are particularly thick as they are so visible.

Ask him for a receipt Paul. You will be able to draw an inference from his reaction.

whilst on the subject of window cleaners i had a flyer from a new company set up in dover to just clean windows.
company name, home address, landline and website, in short strictly kosher.
the problem being that he wanted a small fortune to clean them, there is a lot to be said for the black economy.
