18:5888955Neither should it be tolerated by the 'client' (if that is the correct term) but most people don't know how or where to make a fuss if things are not up to scratch. It must often mirror your own recent experiences , Bern.

19:1988958i must bring up the subject of the riverside centre again and the services they provide.
people can be collected from their own homes and taken back at the end of the day after filling themselves up with good home cooked meals and snacks.
newspapers, magazine, books and internet linked computers are all on hand.
seems better than sitting indoors with nobody to talk to and having to await their "meal on wheels"

19:2688959I couldn't agree more. There are so many ways to live a life whatever the age, ability, need or aspiration - we really do need to shake off those old and devastatingly restrictive views on how to be old. Or disabled. Or anything! There is no "right" way to live, just alternatives. And Peter - you are right, and there is no reason or need to put up with second best or even nearly second best. There are many ways to enrich a life, some of which take no money at all but they do taker effort and creativity and the a bility to "think around corners".
