Anyone getting the feeling things aren't getting any better?
Petrol stations are still either empty or have long queues.

Filled up at BP folkestone rd at 7pm last night, only a couple of cars ahead of me and 30 mins ago there were no queues at Whitfield roundabout. I've been needing fuel all week but haven't been willing to join the lemmings! It is a lot calmer.

It's not getting any better and the speed in which forecourts are running dry after a delivery makes me wonder if those tankers are half full.

I must be just timing it badly.
Tesco Whitfield has either been closed or had queues that blocked even getting into the shop for food.
The one at the top of Jubilee Way has no fuel yesterday afternoon.
The one in Sandwich has either been closed or had a queue back to the Deal Road, probably mainly people just wanting to get into the town.
At Richborough, one was closed and the other had a long queue.
Still, hopefully, I'll find somewhere at the weekend. Just need keep enough petrol in the tank to drive around looking

The one at the top of Jubilee way had cars queueing across the roundabout yesterday evening, i was on my way to Deal and had to turn around outside the Duke of York school,go back through Guston and join the Deal rd from Martin mill.Roundabout was almost blocked with cars.I heard the Police got called there in the end to sort things out.

I drove past that around 6.45, the garage was closed but they had a tanker filling the tanks, at that point it was back to the DYRMS back gate and a few on the dual carriageway, word must have got out about the delivery. While they were quieing I was filling up without the queue, I think I must have got lucky (though not with the price!)

Just been out and ended up along the A20, where I decided to bite the bullet and join the queue. took about 20 minutes to get through, but at least I won't run out tomorrow.
I think I may frame the receipt

Access to Deal Town Centre virtually cut off yesterday unless you know side roads. Buses using side roads because both garages had fuel queues at same time. Route from town to Sandwich cut off from Queen St traffic lights , upper Deal to town centre cut off from Milestone Rd to garage for most of day from 6.00am .

As ever Ray ,one gets on with life. All part of life’s rich pattern. Garage staff gaining experience in traffic management. New roles in life.

Indeed. One has to be philosophical. I would love you to hear you expounding the benefits of such stoicism to David Davis.

I have this feeling also. nothing will change until the connection between people will get better.

Primed to panic by 5 years of government / opposition / media catastrophising on Brexit, climate and covid. Incompetence or design, you decide.

WGS " media catastrophising".
Whichever political party happen to be in power at the time once the media keep going on and on saying there is a shortage of something there are those that will always panic buy.
I wonder why there is still a shortage of fuel in London and the South East when the rest of the UK are ok, preferential treatment maybe.

I am getting fed up with people saying the problem is panic buying or the media. Most people just want fuel to get to work and get on with their lives and the situation is not getting any better in the south east.
If the answer really is that everyone should only be putting £20 in their tank just before running dry then perhaps we need to swap capitalism to communism in this country.
