Sounds like Stagecoach are testing the waters a bit.

Nothing on Traveline yet but they only have up to 2nd May anyway. As the 62 interworks with other routes there could be other small changes.

You need to talk about your loss Sue, bottling it up like this is not good for you. Much better to tell people how you feel, get it out there. Only then can you start to grieve and In time it will get better, you might not feel that way now but it will I promise you.

Thank you Reginald .I have done a lot of grieving in my time .I was enjoying my trips to Canterbury now it's a chore. My late husband was a Reginald but we called him Paul and my Father in law .I love your banter.Keeps me smiling.

I don't think you'll get a Canterbury direct service back - numbers would be too small to justify it. The 15B was a happy accident - providing a service to River from town and increasing the frequency between Dover and Canterbury. The latter has now been cut from 4 to 3 buses per hour so no real latitude for a service via River.

I can't think why River should be so special, in Maxton and the Clarendons we get an hourly service into town, other parts get a more frequent service but only into town where they get another bus into Canterbury. When I first moved here it was one an hour from Pencester Road to Canters and gradually went up to four so I think three is acceptable.

You don't get the point Howard.River people now have to go back on themselves as it were.Catch a bus via St Radigunds twenty odd minutes, only to find themselves on a bus to Canterbury seeing from when they started their journey. There was no problem with passenger numbers.Students and workers are now expected to walk up to the main road opposite the Railway Bell often the buses are full as they have cut the Canterbury service.I note there is a frequent service to Folkestone from Pencester.
I might add Howard the population of River is greater than Clarendon..Over a fifth of the population of River are over sixty five .We are not asking for a bus to Canterbury every thirty minutes just one an hour would suffice..

Can you not get the 90 bus from River up to the Railway Bell, and from there to Canterbury?

Yes if you dodge the traffic. It was always difficult to cross there and now there is such an increase in traffic..New build at Whitfield and people using the Alkham Valley as a rat run. They should have done something about that junction years ago.Coming back from Canterbury same problem.Once you get passed seventy five crossing roads is no joke.Everything is geared to the younger generation. You will see my post on another thread.

Four fifths of the population (the large majority) are under sixty five and I bet many of those well over sixty five have their own cars, so that is not a good enough reason to have a special service. No company can run efficiently for a minority whatever form of business they are in.
Just be grateful you are still fit enough to use public transport, however awkward the trip might be, many are not that lucky, sorry but keeping on whinging about it will not change things.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

No Jan you are right but I thought the idea was to get more people out of cars and use public transport. Many residents are going back to driving .Carparks are full.and congestion everywhere.People complain about car parking charges.I noticed the Albany place car park was full when I was in that area one day last week.

Then how about either the 89 or 90 up to Whitfield (Honeywood Parkway - proper pedestrian crossing) and the 12 to Canterbury? There seem to be several options for getting from River to Canterbury without having to go into Dover.

Bless you Sue i feel for you but on the case i'm fighting against Stagecoach i am more concerned by members of the public being stranded in their homes due to the new appalling service via Dover, Deal, St Margaret's and Sandwich a couple of points students are now arriving to East Kent college late each day for their course due to it taking an hour and half around the houses as mentioned above.
Also disabled people who relied on these buses to get around are now paying for taxis to get to their local supermarket again its unfair but rest assured i will tell them of your such horrid struggles next time i see them i'm sure they will be sobbing into their hankies.
