Finally got the new timetable at the Folkestone Rd/Belgrave Rd bus stop and it appears that 100/101/102 buses are now running 5 minutes later than before.

Howard, the 100 timetable has not changed since April. What you may have is a stop-specific timetable which gives times 5 minutes after the Pencester Road times shown in the printed timetable.

No Lew I am referring to God's own bus stop at the junction of Folkestone and Belgrave roads going into town. Yes I remember back in the Spring when the route was amended in Folkestone to make the Harbour Arm more accessible but this is different.

Into town - probably 5 minutes after the time at The Plough, the previous timing point. They have been gradually rolling out these stop-specific timetables which gives the approximate time the bus is due rather than, as it used to be, the time at the previous timing point. My local stop now shows all times as 1 minute after the Tesco time.

Still a lot of confusion over the changes. I needed the bus to the Castle for the Falconry event earlier and logged on to Stagecoach website to get the latest times. Routes 80 and 81 serve the Castle now every 30 minutes instead of every hour. All well and good but the timetable at the bus stop doesn't mention the Castle which left a lot of tourists looking bewildered.

All the buses were at Walmer Green today. Generations of East Kent double deckers & smart coaches.
London Transport & SeaLink also stood out. Normal service was disrupted by these veterans taking pride of place with uniformed conductors & their numbered badges to the fore.

Pauls post is very apt.Only saying to a friend today we had better buses and bus service forty years agoA lot of the buses now are so uncomfortable .If you live in Hawkinge orFolkestone you get very plush buses.

Have to disagree Sue the 91 service from Folkestone to Dover via Hawkinge, Alkham and Temple Ewell is normally on a bone shaker. Having said that the seats near the back of the 100/101/102 are as comfortable as wavy benches.

The 91 goes via River having gone through St Radigunds first and it is a bone shaker.

91 should normally be Solos - but they are 11 years old now!

Yes and don't we know it .Makes me sad as Dover never gets the best,During my twenty seven years as a Councillor I travelled to various council districts also worked with councillors from other authorities and always felt we were sometimes neglected. If perhaps we were treated better we may see people aspire .

It's not true to say that Dover doesn't get any new buses. The Solos were new when they first arrived, when the Heart brand was introduced. Similarly there were new single-deckers when the Diamond network (now demolished!) was introduced and when it was expanded 5 years ago. Nothing new since, though, other than the Canterbury Park and Ride buses which operate out of Dover depot. There are some new DDs due soon but I wouldn't hold your breath that Dover will get any!

A bit unfair Lew, our double deckers now have Wi Fi and USB ports and the chap at the front of the bus does a sterling job waving that red flag.
