Keith!
I have clearly stated that the Tories and LibDems form the Coalition Government, and I'd rather see the elected authorities doing positive policy making.
Labour has nothing to do with the Government.

roger;
you do hope, but of course it won't
once the cobbled together govt falls apart this govt will have to go to an election and your beloved will be out of office
just a matter of time

Keith, do any opinion polls give Labour an outright majority?
So how would Labour get in if there were a general election?
Their only way would be by courting the LibDems.
But they already told Labour where to get off, which is why I believe the Coaltion partners should sit back and think how to create some constructive policies that allow both parties to score points on constructive proposals.
As said, Nick has made a few good proposals lately, and by challenging the enelected establishment and the top bankers he deserves the appropriate credit.
If Nick is challenging the super-rich and those who are trying to make easy money, and challenging the enelected privileged in the upper house, then he is clearly not with Labour, which did more than any party in British history to privilege the rich and tread on democracy.
I sincerely hope the Tories realise they must do better than Labour.
We need some Levellers in Parliament, the more, the better.

HOWARD;
Your correct never know where alexander stands.
alexander;
if you read all the threads you wi;ll find your postings to be incorrect
1; at no point have i stated labour would win the next election what i have said
is the lib dems will be insignificant at the next election, but also the tories
will lose many seats and not be the majority party.
2; you will find in other threads that leading lib dems are now saying they
could work with labour in the future,(my personal view is labour shouldn't
consider it, or if they do, without cast iron views should reject such an
idea)
3; interesting alexander that you have stopped at sany view on ukip making
any gains or any difference thus clearly no point voting for them
should they stand.

Keith,
real-time reality is important. If we were to wait for a general election, it could mean waiting years. If I tied myself to a party in opposition, I would exclude myself from any participation in the present Government and from making any proposals, possibly sitting around for years repeating the same musical bars of one party.
By being free in spirit, speaking out against what I perceive to be negative decisions proposed in Parliament and supporting what in my view are good proposals coming from Parliament, I participate in the democratic views of the public opinion, which does have an effect on Parliament's decisions.
For this reason my views are found in the comments sections of online News such as Sky.
To simply be a member of UKIP and renounce freedom of spirit would be just sitting about letting other people make policies and never participating in their creation.

alex is confusing at times, if one is a member of a political party then it is only right that one promotes their policies within reason .
the yellow chaps are the furthest removed from ukip so it is surprising that alex appears to be defecting to them.

The topic in relation to the LibDems was Nick's view on unelected peerage in our Parlament and his call for a review of the meaning and functioning of big-time capitalism.
My point is that the Tories, who are in Coalition with them, would do well to give these ideas a thought and agree to them, thus demonstrating that they can do better than Labour, which trod on democratic majority opinions and let the speculators and the very rich become absurdly richer while the Country went economically to ruins.
Nick recently hit a nail on the head, talking of the unelected privileged, I hope he doesn't let go!
Membership of UKIP does not require that one be in favour of the monarchy, so it is perfectly alright for me to express my opinion as I have about unelected privileged people.
In so doing, I have in no way gone against UKIP membership policies.
