The blossom is used to make elderflower cordial, you may tell from this that my Nan and Grandad were great wine makers and foraged throughout the seasons.
Just returned from a long dog walk and won't need to eat again today, I've feasted on blackberries, apples and slightly under ripe hazelnuts, gathered mushrooms and rosehips and earmarked the chestnuts for next month.
I love this time of year!
