I told you all last year coal is to make a very big come back ,and if you had the news on,new coal power plants are to build in the next ten years to back up the other ones,if that is true it will mean 1000s of new jobs in new coal mines.

Not for this area, it is only really viaible to either ship coal in or have massive open cast mines which are perhaps 100s of jobs at most

Been nice knowing you :)

Sorry but that is not true they can open new Kent coal mines, there is aways cost to doing anything new but it will get work on the move again all over the U.K.

Again today they are talking coal, I have said this before if the reds go ahead with coal it will get them back in,with 1000s of new jobs and skills it will bring back voters but the coal must be from the U.K. and the jobs for the U.K. workers only.We build this nation on coal and we can rebuild it the same way and the U.K. can be Great Britain again.

Brian it's no good telling him that, he is always convinced he's right and everyone else is wrong. You hit the nail on the head - he is a dreamer and the sooner he wakes up the better. Heaven forbid this man ever gets elected in Dover - for any party.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Reccsion or not work goes on.
You would not be geting coal out by hand,we have moved on today it would be done by mechanical power, I like 1000s of others have and still do work underground but in my case i do not do it now, but it is very safe not like it was 30years ago,and the skills are still there, alot of work still goes on undergroundin the U.k.It would not be hard to open new pits, as I said black is back,I am no dreamer and because of my work in the pass I do know what I am talking about, just wait and see ,but in 3years time the U.K.will be mining coal again.

How many times do we have to put up with this? Vic you're not the only one who has worked all his life, many many people have but don't go on about it.
Scotchie knows what he's talking about and Brian is right - stop dreaming and wasting space with your ramblings - no-one is impressed!

09:3586923In the last year we have all followed stories from China and South America about the "safety" of mines. Re-opening or starting new mines of the sort Vic is dreaming of would cost billions, billions that are not available at this time nor for the foreseeable future. Back in reality nobody is investing in expensive start-ups, even the water companies are increasing prices to reduce usage rather than developing new sources. Coal mining in this country is as good as over and you would have more luck daydreaming about the restoration of Beeching's lost branch lines.
Our past, our history is a lesson and a road map for our future not a dream destination. Coal, like the dream of sorting all the countries problems by saving on the Euroclub subscription, is a non starter.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
