Paul gives all colours a fair hearing

i understand your wanting to protect our paulb
but no one should be outside of being able to be in the critical spotlight.
like a few other issues i will be watching to see how consistent forumites are including the editor and dep editor when people(and there will be some)slag off gordon.
as for being a cllr, i did my bit for 25 years did what i could in the restraints that are always in place, and of course frustrating part of people playing politics, and selecting/electing the people who are just there for them selves.
jan
i have to commend you in your stand on the town council with ref to the rebels
and long may that continue at least you recall who selected/elected you.
you will recall in a group meeting of labour town cllrs that gordon chaired you had a view not held by the majority and i made sure that your voice was heard as everyone has a right to forward views whether in a majority or not.
as for the forum itself, i think paulb has a big juggling act to take part in, more so because there are a large number of conservative supporters on the forum
thats no bad thing, but can give a slant that the forum all goes along with those views, well i for one dont agree with a lot of them, and was asked to post by paulb and others to even up the debate a bit.
of course the tories had it there own way for a long time and now some forumites who support the tories don't like them being told sorry i don't agree
but disagree when the need arises i will
woops this was only going to be a short reply

16:3887269Keith.
You know PaulB is an old Leftie too (less of the "old" I hear him say), so he will be happy for Gordon to post on here.
What I do hope is that if Gordon does post, people will not be attacking him, but may feel happy to question his policies and politics.
When PaulW posts on here, I would like to see your comments were not pointed at Paul himself, but at his (and mine I guess) policies - although I can't imagine that anyone could rationally argue against the Conservative policies for moving Dover forward and the professional management of Dover District Council.

16:5887275i doubt that there is any political bias on the forum, people are free to criticise the actions and policies of anyone else.
where the line is drawn is when an individual is singled out for attack.
i think that most of us are eagerly awaiting gordon to join in, whether they support his views or are against them.

17:1487281As has been said many times - attack the policy, not the person.

17:4487300Could you make a short list of why-nots Keith ?
When PaulW has made a comment about you, it was only because you were being particularly nasty or nauseating and it warranted such a comment back.
There is no one at DDC who has the vision to move Dover forward; I can't imagine anyone on the Labour group negotiating with other local authorities as succesful as Paul also with Government ministers and well as David Cameron.

with regard to local councils in general realy all parties have been doing much the same it's not down to one party, its a very blinkered view if you believe otherwise
i like to have an open mind on the good bad and ugly(wont put names to them lol)
as iv posted before there are a handful of good hard working cllrs on both the two major parties on the district council
as there are a handful of hard working cllrs on the alliance/labour benches
it's all about what you believe in, and im not going to try to convince you otherwise roger, you come from the right of the tory party and that's fine, the same as im realy old labour and a lefty
but realy im out of it all now
just dip in and out when i feel like it and for friends only
not political parties
that said i do want the election of labour persons at every level
i dont hide that

11:2887451Thanks Keith for post 43 its true I know where my loyalty lies and as you very well know its been hard in the past,
Its true we should all be able to take criticism and give it otherwise we should not be doing the job.
PaulB does have to juggle but I think he does it fairly, and by the way we do not always agree
