Compliant British Goverments for decades have supplied Bahrain with armaments and crowd control equipment.
Bahrain has been my second home, never a non-dom,never turned native, but hundreds of visits over 27 years and.
Involved at all levels of their society, both shia and sunni.......still have friends and former collegues on the Island
Bahrain is ruled by the sunni Royal Family, the majority of the population is shia who have for 14 months demonstrated
for democracy..........many have been murdered, tortured, raped ( both sexes ) etc, etc, etc,by the ruthless security
services.
The royal family have told F1 grand prix bosses that the unrest has fizzed out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...yesterday like many days
thousands of protesters have walked the streets for democracy to be met as usual by the security services. When the
security services cannot cope Saudia Arabia send over their tanks etc in large numbers.....the unrest will not go
away........I am convinced the grand prix should be cancelled......the one sided violence is second only to Syria.
Former British police officers are dominant in their security services.Several police officers who resigned ( before they
were pushed ) on the Hacking inquiry have recently been on the island as `advisors`
One of America`s Fleets are on the island and have recently `advised` King Hamad to implement a national reform
towards democracy, but little has changed........it would help if Britains Foreign Office supported the American`s in their
efforts to improve life on the Island..........not holding breath.....
When Bahrain finally becomes a democracy.........as in all middle east countries there will be a perion of settling old
grievancies.......and the Security Services will be called to answer some heavy questions..........................
...........watch this space...............
F1 was cancelled last year as well wasn't it? Was that because of the same issue? A long time to attempt to conceal unrest. It is shameful the way the international community has treated Syria, and Bahrain as well by the look of it.

# 2........correct to both questions.............Bernie Ecclestone CEO of F1 is consulting the race drivers to see if they are
willing to race in Bahrain...............it is feared Abdulhadi al-Khawaja a protester on hunger strike is dead....
Unrest intensified over the weekend
John Yates former Met assistant Commissioner who resigned following the Hacking inquiry is an advisor to the Bahrain
Royal Family. He is now advising on the security for the race..........
Previous demonstrations have been dealt with ruthlessness.........with terrible cosequences after.
Ecclestone is being critcised for his preoccupation with the $ 40 million fee............

The Times has it that ancillary staff; mechanics & caterers, have been given two sets of travel plans for after the race in China. One to come straight back to UK the other back via Bahrain.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Violence continues in Bahrain with riots and a bomb injuring seven policeman.Damian Hill says if the grand prix race goes
ahead the FIA would be seen to be backing martial law......he adds `the Human cost is just to much to pay.
Bernie Ecclestone CEO of F1 says there are some very good commercial reasons why the race should go ahead..........
.........he must be on the elite greedy pigs planet....

Further blood shed and deaths are expected when protesters against the Bahrain F1 grand prix clash with security forces
who are using water cannon, tear gas, stun grenades and rubber bullits.
Security forces in the days after previous clashes ( which are a daily occurrence ) have arrested wounded protesters and
staff at Manama Hospital and they have been tortured etc,etc.600 are still in detention.
Former assistant commissioner of the Met John Yates who is advising the Royal family has written to Jean Todt president
of the FIA saying ``he felt safer living in Bahrain than he ever did living in london``.....expletives.....Bernie Ecclestone CEO
of the F1 says ``he knows people who live in Bahrain and it`s all quiet and peacefull``....expletives.....
As an Ex-Pat in Bahrain you can live in a bubble of luxury..Sheraton,Hilton,Holiday Inn.Ramada hotels etc..British Club
Yacht Club etc,etc....Outside this bubble things are completely different.
It would appear when top, powerfull, rich people just talk among themselves they do not know what is going on in their own
country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A fifty eight page report by Amnesty International states Bahrain has failed to deliver on promises of political reform after a
deadly crackdown last year.
The international Crisis Group warn having the grand prix in Bahrain is like a `time bomb`
The Shiites majority plan protests which again will bring the ruthless security forces out in full force as seen on BBC News
tonight.
John Yates former Met assistant Commissioner and Bernie Ecclestone have told governing bodies Bahrain is safe and
peacefull in order to enable the race to go ahead.
Ecclestone `steps` into the `unknown` to get his £ twenty five million blood money
It is feared many lives will be lost.

Fat Lady still not singing.................but on the evidence from Ecclestone and John Yates former assistant Met Commissioner
that Bahrain is all ``quiet and peacefull and safer than London to live``that the next headline could be......
`Ecclestone increases his fee to £ 50 million for Grand Prix in Syria.`

John Yates former assistant Met Commissioner, the man who said Bahrain is quite and peaceful and safer than London to
live, yesterday said....``Bahrain cannot guarantee F1 teams will be safe``He added the security forces will have live rounds
to control any demonstrations
This revised statement will not give comfort to the F1 drivers, wifes and teams.
Yates and Ecclestone`s ill-informed information to the FIA gave them a guarantee of saftey last week.Experienced ex pats
were advising them differently but the `money` won the day.
A `three day of rage` is planned....it will be a day that they and many Bahrain people will remember.
Pressure is growing to cancel the grand prix at the 11th hour.

# 13.......True....and with Team Air India mechanics firebomb in demonstrations yesterday and them flying home Mr
Ecclestone will be explaining to King Hamad that the worlds eyes are on him and he is under extreme international pressure
to cancell the grand prix and the King will ofcourse ``thank him`` for continuing with the grand prix......
......but the Fat Lady is alive and kicking.....but not singing.......yet.

Bahrain are stopping foeign journalists entering the Island and many of those already there have been sent home on
Thursday, touch of the North Korean style but the world is now aware of the nasty dictatorship in place in Bahrain and all due
to the grand prix being allowed to race this weekend.
Britain and America have to many eggs in the basket to intervene to promote democracy but the problem will not go away.
United Nations may be requested to step in before we have another Syria.
