Looks like there are warning signs out there that over 40,000 people will be made homeless over the tory branch of the cobbled together governments plans being proposed.
Many right wing tories warning mr cameron to take a step back
shelter also telling the government they will only make the problems worse with these proposals.
So will cameron stand firm supporting his ultra right friends a little
or will this be another of mr camerons ill thought out proposals and end up with mr cameron getting egg on his face?
time will tell
the vultures are out, mr cameron is looking very very weak

Cameron is indeed looking very weak, but he has all the patter when interviewed on TV and that is all you apparently need to win a election

It's another one of those poorly thought through exercises that governments (of all shades) seem to enjoy. Consult first, then plan, then act, it's not too hard to understand.

The tories didn't win the election(thankfully)

the ill though out policies are now accepted as standard, hardly headline grabbing anymore.
i was thinking the other day that i have never seen the big two parties seeming to be so inept.
clegg's yellow army are derided by all and sundry for their treachery, however they are the most successful at the moment.
they are outnumbered by around 5 to 1 but definitely punch above their weight.
dave certainly bows to them more than his own back benchers.

It's an attempt by the Government to put a £500 a month cap on housing benefits.
Many people in London, and perhaps some other large cities, pay higher rent, so get higher housing benefit if unemployed.
But quite a number of people on housing benefit live in a relatively large house, and Gov. doesn't want there to be the impression that to be on benefits is better than working.
I'm not too sure myself what to say about it, other than that Gov. create more job-vacancies for the unemployed British.

the problem of high rents will not go away, any cheap housing available has been taken up by immigrant workers.
very little affordable housing is being built so the problem of people on benefits living in expensive housing will have to stay put.

From todays Mail
A Nigerian woman, who flew to Britain purely to give birth to quintuplets conceived in Africa, is now fighting Home Office moves to return her to her home country. MPs and campaigners say an apparent fertility free-for-all is unacceptable at a time when the NHS is under unprecedented financial pressure. Hospitals are already slashing their budgets amid clear signs that waiting times are rising and optional treatments are being cut back.
I am in favour of health care for all but this is justing taking the *iss. This woman has already cost the NHS £200k next will be her legal aid bills.

Agreed, I bet this sort or thing happens all the time with various expensive medical problems. Send her back as soon as possible.

it becomes easier each time.
dave knows that despite the media comments the tax paying public would expect nothing less from him.

Gulp! 500 pounds per week! That's £2,000 a month, 13 times a year!
And so who is trying to tell me that to cap that sum, will make 40,000 people homeless??
Does that mean that those getting more than £500 a week housing benefit will only get £500 a week and subsequently end up on the street homeless?
I think I need to take a break.
Keith, the "cobbled together government", as you call it, should do a lot more, and more swifter, to get the priorites right.
If someone getting 500 quid a week housing benefit complained they would become homeless, I'd suggest Gov. put on a pair of honnailed boots and help 'em along!

that is what rents are like in london nowadays, landlords know the taxpayer will foot the bill if the tenant cannot pay it.

Well London must be densly populated, then. I suppose many people from the Shires move to London in search of work, or perhaps believing that the pavements are lined with gold.

howard/reg
even leading conservatives in yesterdays question time were asking the govt to hold off on the bskyb deal, or it will backfire on the conservatives.
Maybe camerion will listen to his own?
