This might help. Sadly when I tried to log onto the websites for this organisation they were unable to connect. But it looks like it is worth supporting for local business.

What's with the Dalek? Don't even know where to start with this latest ill-conceived gem.

Did anybody visit them I wonder?
Most business people are at work this whole idea strikes me as a waste of time and money.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

This is a business man trying to encourage business opportunities from his own money & promote the area.
Sad people mock it.

don't think people are mocking it paul, just interested as to why market square during office hours.
it is usually desolate at most times unless a cruise ship is in or a party of school children from overseas are there, there must be a more effective way of reaching potential customers.
It is an initiative that deserves support - the local reps we have can seem inactive and a tad pathetic, and at least this guy is thinking around the corners a bit and supporting Dover Business. I agree the timing and publicity could do with a tweak, but let's show support for some local initiative, chaps!

What's wrong with a Dalek anyway? It's only a bit of fun to get people to stop who might have otherwise just walked past. A hook, as it were. Good luck to the chap.

Roger Knight is working very hard at supporting local businesses and I wish him success. I had a chat with the Lady who was manning it this morning and she said they are getting more member-businesses signing up - not a great number yet, but from little acorns.......
It is of course two-fold: business to business networking as well as business to the public and this is a good way to promote those businesses who have joined up, to the passing public.
I do think though that they need to be more pro-active than re-active and talk to the passers-by instead of waiting for them to inquire and also visit local businesses and talk to them about the initiative and what it can do for their business.

I feel sure many people would have visited for advice if they had known it would be there.
