John, try a press release: Dover event organiser despairs of townsfolk's apathy. Might jog a few consciences.

Just as a follow on from post #1........ I'm only asking questions John, Don't kill me.
Why a Sunday afternoon?
Most people consider it a day at home with the family or in some cases an activity day of sorts.
In my case a Friday or a Saturday night would have been perfect and Sunday is fully booked, unless any thing changes I could get tickets on the door.
I will try John but not promising. Good luck with it all matey.

grass grows by the inches but dies by the feet.
Indeed - not a criticism as Sunday is ideal for some, but for me it is one of the few chances I have to catch up with family, chores and other stuff and working such log hours I treasure it.

Sunday seemed best as very little is on,and it was a date offered and as it is going to be a busy year this was the date I was given by the Event organisers remember the physical show (the acts ) are my responsibility. You have to remember that most of the acts are children some as young as 6,Friday night and Saturday night with a 10.00pm finish. Then people complain there are no buses home or it is too dark.
Tickets will be available on the day from 11.00 until 2.50.But if the whole of Dover rushed down and buys all the tickets......no that wont happen....yes there will be tickets on sale on the day.

Havent checked for a while, but I am the sort of person who is disappointed if there is an empty seat,we are hoping for 200 as we have nearly 100 people in the show.Still hoping lots of people get them between now and Sunday and even on Sunday itself.Lets hope!
We have now both the Sea Cadets Band and the ATC Band taking part, and a young lady of 6 playing the Violin with her big(13) year old sister. Two really small Irish dancers, and the syro dance team of course.Just need to find a dancer teacher that can teach them!
Ross how about you teaching the sycro dance team?

Do you have any posters in any shop windows around the Town John - I haven't seen any. That is always a good source of promoting an event to the public.

If you havent got your tickets the £7.50 are almost sold out a few at the Town Council and a few at Visitors Information Office not sure about Mascarada in London Road.
It looks as if a few (if any) £7.50 first 5 rows tickets will be available on the day from 11.00 at the Town Hall but plenty of £5 row 6 back to row 15 .
