Philip, EU and environment are two distinct topics.
The carbon emission laws in Britain are not subject to EU will or regulation, but to general all-party agreement in Parliament (London).
There is no evidence of a general UK sentiment to do away with the carbon emission and environment laws.
PS: Did you all know, that Sellafield in Cumbria has cost our Country £67+ billion - all counted and shining - just for clean-up operations of darned nuclear waste, and that these operations are proving impossible to implement, and that the current costs are already at £1.6 billion a year.
Here's the link:

Cumbria County has just voted against a nuclear waste storage site too. It would have cost us a further £12 billion (preliminary estimates, which probably - and so often - end up doubling).
Hope Philip is reading this!
