Got a pal out there at mo and i'm gonna send him a goodie box full of treats. I also want to send random stuff out there that he can share among the lads and ladesses.
I've got some novels and crossword books. for him to leave around the camp. Can u give me some other ideas of what our boys need.

a flight ticket home would probably be the most acceptable gift for the chaps serving there.

Maybe Howard but you have to remember they are doing the job they trained for and wanted as professional soldiers, not conscripts. One of my clients served two tours in Afghanistan and says that he would not have wanted to do anything else, he is very proud of what he and his mates were/are doing there.

Haribo Fangtastics, commonly known as moralibo's by the troops.
Keeps you on your toes whilst out on patrol.
Better get a big box Lorna.

The lads and lassies: how's about sherbot and liquorish! Sit down under a sun-umbrella (parasol), enjoy themselves, and tell the Afguns to get on with it by themselves!

If i was out there a pack of jam dohnuts would be a great gift . Our boys and girls are doing a great job , while they are doing the job that they love , seing there coleagues and friends injured and killed , in a no win situation must be hard to deal with , i hope they are treated like heroes when they come home .

Got loadsa Haribos in parcel, tic tacs and shortbread. I would love to send Chocs and doughnuts Mark, but, the choc will melt and doughnuts will go stale. I'm thinking of putting in some PG and a couple of puzzlebooks and maybe a copy of the Dover express.
In my little parcel will also be shitloads of lollipops and some rhubard and custard sweeties.
I know i only have 2kg for a free delivery. I have my friends sorted with sweets etc ( his dentist will love me). For the camp in seperate goodie box should i put essentials like Books, mags, shower gel, tampons, facewipes, toothpaste and deodrants or just cool stuff?
The item that was appreciated in Iraq was wet wipes of any sort , washing facilities an be very limited

Creme eggs explode... i have been relying informed..
When my brother is off at some point, I have instructions that Jelly Tots are for winners....
wet wipes are a must, and as long as its not aerosols , smellies,, mini shampoos and silly things, books are always a must, and playing cards or popular, and just silly little things are always funny. Something that doesnt take up too much space.

At that point you may as well put a packet of Old Holborn inside too, that should make them homesick and get them boarding the next available plane back home

Not sure i'm allowed to send baccy. I know booze is defo off limits. Might send out out a couple of the newspapers puzzle/cartoon pages to send out as well as last weeks soap mag and maybe a Beano comic. And maybe a page 3 or too lol.
I find it hard to think of stuff to send to remind the boys about home. When really just hearing from someone from home would prob be enough for them.
My eldest daughters partner is off to Afghanistan soon. We must send him something too. I will miss him!
How about the best wishes from all of us at this forum and wish them a safe return how about a page to them with all our names on I'M sure Barry could print it of before you send it. Just a thought.

What a good idea.
I am sure it would be nice for them to know we are all thinking of them and wish them a safe and productive tour of duty.

I'm sure whatever you send them Lorna would be appreciated.
Alexander, your on the verge of being very negative again, I'm sure they would not like to read your comments should they happen to look in.
