taken this afternoon outside the newly converted ancestors building in my road, bearing in mind collection day was yesterday i shudder to think how much more will be added over the next 13 days.

Aargh! It makes you wonder why the offender didn't have the forethought to put it out on collection day.

How many flats use the bins, maybe they don't have enough?

not sure how many flats the church has only just completed its renovation as can be seen here. the problem is not one of how many bins but how many people are living there, after all it is only a small church.

I notice that someone has moved the black sack back with the others, some seagulls are going to have fun scavenging for food and make a right mess.

they didn't hang around roger, all bags taken this morning, just a pity that many had been ripped open leaving rubbish spread around the frontage.

Pleased to hear they collected it Howard.
It seems to be a similar case as per many instances in Folkestone Road, where more people are living in many of the houses than are supposed to be, or are registered to be and so much more rubbish piles up. More wheelie bins, or more commercial bins are required, or less people.

the problem seems to have raised its head again further down the road in belgrave house roger with bins overfilled 2 days after waste have collected. all credit to ddc/veolia but they are only treating the symptom not the cause. i don 't know if this problem of overcrowding happens in other parts of town.

I don't know either Howard, but it does seem more prevalent in this area - sadly.
I'll contact Private Rented Housing, but the last time I did that about Amsterdam House, they had to book an appointment to see round the house and of course a week later all was looking O.K.

i was talking, sorry listening to a clarendon place resident today who has been in regular contact with ddc waste department over vast amounts of bagged rubbish left outside houses blocking the pavements. she says that she has been told now that letters will be going out to offenders followed by fines for non compliance. rubbish will be checked before being taken away to ensure that recycling is being done by the perpetrators.

Yes, I've heard that too Howard - in fact I asked that letters be written to offenders, then if no improvement, sacks/bags be searched and if identities can be found, fines should be issued.

So do I Howard; I'll continue to help as much as I can, those law-abiding, respectful and much put-upon residents and come down as hard as I can, on those who aren't.
