Thanks Brian.........I think

, I liked Horrible Histories on the few occasions I have seen the programme
I used to love history all those years ago, when I was at school we learnt about real history rather than the modern stuff like WW2 which children seem to be taught now.

Many urban myths can be debunked simply by knowing history.

Errrrrr, just like the Bible, Alexander?

Without the Bible, Peter, there would be no Church.
Perhaps atheism considers the Bible a fairy tale, but then the Bible teaches freedom of choice.
I take it you don't believe in Creation.
Then you have fallen for the biggest urban myth ever!

Creation according to the Bible Alexander ?
Most religious people don't believe that.
I consider myself a Christian, but I don't believe the World was created in 7 days - if a day was a number of million years, then I guess it could stand some argument, but we are what we are (evolutionary-wise) because of natural selection.

Roger, believing in Creation means believing in God Creator, regardless how many days it took.
However, the Bible says that, for God, one day can be as a thousand years, and a thousand years can be as one day.
Natural selection may or may not come into it, when in reference to an existing species.
However, no way did dividing mono-cells develop into breeding elephants and breeding human beings.
The evolution theory taught in British schools and on the BBC is an urban myth, and it has naught to do with scientific intelligence - ie the intelligent study of science.

You are showing your ignorance of science, Ray.

Ooops, should have spotted that in my 42 years of doing Bioscience research!

Yes, Ray. However, have you studied genetic science?
If so, you'd have to acknowledge that procreation from birth stems from original Creation.
It does not and cannot derive from mono-cell division, no matter how many millions of years you may fling at it.
Cells divide into cells, they do not evolve into animals or humans.

Alexander, I suggest you get a GCSE Biology course book to read and understand before you post any more on cell division or evolution.

Ray, science has many different spheres.
I'm afraid to have to inform you that you need to study cell division from the basics and leave the science fiction out of it.
Cells do not evolve into procreating male and female animals or humans.

Will this do?
Just the last one from my career, once you've read all this and all the associated references we can continue the conversation!

I can recommend
this book for a fascinating read about cells, not too heavy and as much about the people involved as the the science.

Sorry, Ray, what on Earth has the information in the link in post 15 to do with cells evolving into animals and human beings?
It's an article about cells, nothing whatsoever about how these allegedly evolve into a breeding species, walking and talking and building houses.
You have not demonstrated ANYTHING, Ray, to uphold your impossible theory.
YOU should in theory be trying to explain to US how your theory of cell evolution into animals or humans works.
How did a dividing cell start to reproduce through opposite gender?
When did a mono-cell develop a body and a feminine/masculine reproducing system?
When did a mono-cell start having eyes and ears?
Just please explain these few things, because your links above prove that you have no answer at all.

calm down alex we are only discussing the origins of life here, nothing to be too serious about.

Alex, you told me I needed to study cell division and I'm just showing you the level I have studied it at, and it's not about me but about defending science against the unsubstantiated and uninformed twaddle that you write about cells.
