From what I've heard, around 160ish people turned up for the £2 special today, which is great!

I'll look out for that Josh. I used to spend many happy hours in BEP's. On one occasion the driver accelerated quite fast out of CX. Crossing the road from platform 6 to the down fast I fell off my seat with a pint of Guinness in my hand and didn't spill a drop!

Always stories of them hitting a tonne between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge and slamming the brakes into full for that bend! Good old times.
Ours runs several times a year, we are keen to promote these running days, so keep up to date on this thread which is essentially a hub for news now I guess!

I spent two years travelliing to college on these trains before they were scapped due to electricfication. Although not local it shows how a bunch of hard working people can preserve trains and make a sucess of it. These were the days when trains had individuality. If you read the history of the Hastings line on their website you will see why. The days of the Thumpers
I keep meaning to visit EKR time I did I think

They will be travelling through Dover on 24th November on their way to Dungeness
Well done to everyone at EKR for keeping our history alive

Still plenty of seats left for the bargain Santa Special weekend at the EKR on the 1st and 2nd of December. At just £8 per person and £4 for under 2's, this is not one to be missed! See the EKR website for more details!

Events List for 2013 to be announced soon, but should include a 60's Revival Weekend, and a few vintage vehicle rallies in partnership with the Dover Transport Museum as well as the ever popular Travel for a Pound event in March.
If you own or know of anyone who has vintage vehicles or anything 60's related, we may need you nearer the time! More details to follow.

Sorry to flag this one up again, might start a new thread for updates at the railway. The railway is in the process of being transformed into a Christmassy wonderland at present, with the cafe being done yesterday and the train and rest of site today. Looking very promising for the Santa season, come along and support us if you can.

We need the support of the local public in order to raise the revenue to grow into something bigger, so have a trip on the Santa train and help us out!
