I have just found out that one of the injured people is a friend of my Mum's a very brave lady who has overcome a lot already.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
Shouldn't the police be directed to this site and post?
JHG - how is she doing? My friends family are also involved and it is rather unpleasant frankly.

Yes that is right, but I am having a terrible problem thinking of anything that is the actual road itself that is the problem ?? Can anyone think of one ?"
One or two I am aware of, but only because of unrepaired potholes! Beaconsfield Road springs immediately to mind, especially for cyclists or motorcyclists.

Don't worry about cyclists Phil, most of them are on the pavement.

Brave indeed John - a very traumatic accident for her.
She wasn't a passenger, just a pedestrian going to Church; I wonder if that has put her off of going ?
There was an accident outside our house in Folkestone Road last night about 11pm; from what I could see, there were two cars and what sounded like a motorbike, but it could have been the car in front having the rear end shunted and breaking the silencer, hence the growl.
Three fire-engines, Police and an ambulance and loads of Folkestone Road residents from overseas - presumably one of their friends/family were involved.
There must have been a problem on the A20 too, as all the traffic was coming down the Folkestone Road - mostly big trucks; maybe someone was trying to overtake one of the lorries going round the bend ?
Roger
There might be a case for a 20 mile an hour limit throughout any built up area. Here down by the sea we have to cross Townwall Street. That is no joke when huge lorries come thundering along as fast as they can in order to push through the traffic lights, in many cases, and I swear this is true, not even stopping when the lights turn red well before they get there. As a person in a wheelchair I feel very vulnerable crossing any road, but especially here when I know that as soon as they get out of the docks drivers are aching to put their collective feet down.

any more info on the accident on the folkestone road accident that roger referred to.
the jungle drums have not been beating around here and nothing on any of the local news websites.

07:2364756The accident in Folkestone Road was to do with cars going down the road John - that's what it looked like anyway.
I only heard the bang as they hit each other; it could have been someone driving up the road and a "silly person" overtaking a lorry going down and the two cars collided.
So many trucks up and down the road (by this time, not moving), the A20 must have been closed.

08:5464758According to the local news there were two serious accidents on the A20.
One near Charing involving a car and one near Dover where a motorcyclist died.
