Even the charity shop is better than staying empty so yes, good news.
On the subject of empty shops.
The government is to throw away a whole load of red tape that stands in the way of the temporary use of empty shops for various purposes.
Rather than copying and pasting here is the link...

if the new bookshop/stationer is up to the standard of the last one then people will be happy.
i hope that the previous staff who have not got new jobs will be employed here.

There is also the antique/second hand shop in the Charlton Centre that opened recently.
I have also been told that there might be a fancy dress shop opening up High Street or London Road but am not sure how true that is.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

How lovely to see a few shops opening - and I am happy with a few charity shops, love the rummaging!

I am sorry to hear that Mandys tearooms is closing.

I agree with Howard, it was a sad day for Dover when we lost the Sussex Bookshop, very helpful staff with many bargains to be found

funny you should mention that charlie, went past yesterday appears to be a convenience store/off licence.
we already have anothr 2 in market square.
at first we were told that it would be a social club then rumours abounded about it being a drinking club with a late licence.

as you well know terry, the owners also run a bar in ramsgate, i don't know what type.
should they work on selling polish products in the main i think they will come unstuck.
the shop next to the subway has been established a while now and all the main supermarkets have an ever increasing range of eastern europe products.

Howard, I walked past the new Youth Club next to the underpass today and noticed that two of the windows are boarded up. Have they been vandalised or is there another reason.? I know that you walk down that area regularly and thought that you may have some news.
