As you will know dear reader there is an amazing thread running in our Forum. It was the brainchild of none other than Doverforum associate editor Howard McSweeney and the idea has run and run and run. The thread is called " Where is it? "...so if you havent seen it yet take a look. It's all good fun. Howard puts in a huge amount of work on the thread, travelling the district to photograph areas and scenes and buildings and gets forumites guessing as to their location. Some of the guys are great at getting the results...others like yours truly not terribly good.
But the thread " Where is it? " continues to fascinate. So much so that it has now run for more than 252 pages, with 5030 plus posts, and with almost 107,000 viewings.
Great local names are joining in..guys like Paul Watkins, Terry Nunn, Stewart Dimmock are real exponents...in fact there are other guys too all equally keen. You have to be a member to take part.
Top picture shows some of the guys , just some of them, gathered in Blakes of Castle St to mark the occasion..left to right. Barry Wadsworth-Smith, Keith 'Keefy' Sansum, Howard McSweeney himself, Cllr Jan Tranter former Mayor of Dover, Cllr Roger Walkden, Colette Boland of Doverforum, Thomas 'Guzzler' Mitchell, and last but not least Ted Smith.
Next picture shows yours truly Paul Boland presenting Howard with what looks like a nicely wrapped bag of fish'n'chips. But not a bit of it. The packet contains a nicely inscribed plaque notifying Howard of his achievement on the thread mentioned. The plaque was a bit different for us..and gives Howard something tangible to help remember his achievement in the years ahead.
Picture left shows Rick and Claire Jones. Claire is a current forumite, heavily involved in charity work, and Rick is one of the legends behind the original Doverweb. Picture right shows Peter and Kathryn Garstin owners of Blakes. They put up with us Doverforumites with good humour every so often for one of our shindigs. Peter of course is an arch member of the club.
Famous (or should that be infamous) blogger here on Doverforum, Barry Williams left, author of Barry's Blog, seen here with glass in hand yours truly. On the right we have Cllr Roger Walkden with Sarah Price...all enjoying the occasion in fine jolly style.
All members of lonnnnng standing here...left Doverforum's social organiser Colette Boland, in the centre enjoying all the attention is Keith 'Keefy' Sansum, our resident leftie supreme, and on the right Cllr Jan Tranter..legends all.

Last couple of shots..phew! Cllr Nigel Collor a legend in his own time, sitting at the bar with Jean Walkden....and on the right Thomas 'Guzzler' Mitchell entertaining all the guys at the bar with his engaging ramblings. We didn't get pix of everybody there, but catch you next time.
