The big push by farage to include the ethnics rich business community is backfiring on ukip .
Ukip will start to lose the working class vote when the watering down of ukip immigration policy is rumbled by the British working class voters.
Farage has given in to business, so they will get to keep all the millions of cheap EU workers that will be exempt from having to comply with the new ukip visa system
And the ukip policy of abolishing controls on parasite employment agencies, allowing them even more power to pick the pockets of the working man.

What I can't understand is how they put him top of a list of UKIP candidates with his track record.
He is now a blue MEP without anyone actually voting for him.

If policy changes my support changes , just like all the ex labour party voters that have changed because of new labour party policy .
I agree with lots of ukip policy ,but they are making a big mistake on the 2 issues that most effect the British working class.
Will the people of Dover be happy when they learn that the new communities that have landed in Dover, will not have to apply for the new ukip visa system ,when we get out of the EU ?

In fairness nobody will have to apply for the ukip visa system as it would require ukip to win the general election, but it does seem more and more ukip policies are being watered down, I would assume trying to gain wider party appeal, but I imagine it would have the opposite effect.

They are definitely trying to broaden their appeal but I think their biggest problem is discipline over policies. Farage and others seem to make policy on the hoof depending on who is asking, then we others at the top saying that Farage does not make policy decisions. The fact is that the general public see Nigel Farage as UKIP so take everything he says as gospel.

Had the first canvasser of the campaign this morning, a chap from UKIP simply asked whether I would be voting for them in May.

That "UKIP gaffe" tells us more about the type of people who are against UKIP than anything else. Weirdos who phone up and abuse that woman show their true colours n'est ce pas?

UKIP have announced that Georgette Rapley will be standing for them at the forthcoming DDC elections, that is the first candidate confirmed over all parties as far as I know. I think we can expect a few surprises when names come out.

Howard, where was this info published? Did it say anything about the ward that Georgette would be going for? I think some of us can guess at some names that will be announced. Interesting times!

Here we are Pam, doesn't say which ward but as she was a town councillor in Castle ward before maybe she will do again.
Interesting times indeed a game of musical parties is ahead according to rumours, even heard that Dr Richardson will be standing in my ward!!

I know one person that I have heard will be standing and would not vote for, far to domineering and confrontational (however well meaning) for my liking.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

People who stand with a personal agenda don't usually get voted in, it is a turn off for voters.
