I thought the best two bits in his manifesto were setting up a demilitarised zone between North And South Thanet coupled with KCC to run Greece so that the bins get emptied.

Another former blue goes over to UKIP although I don't consider this to be up to date news as Andrew was on their street stall outside the Town council offices back in November.

Definitely old news. The ukip spin machine has been on everdrive this week though, the express letters page has been given over almost entirely to it. Seems to be the only letters the express prints these days are political dross, thought it was supposed to be for local people not a local politics sounding board.

The report has a lot of disinformation from Charlie.
A) It was not covered extensively 2 years ago.
B) Andrew did not leave the blues for UKIP over it.
C) Andrew resigned as councillor in 2011 and resurfaced at the planning meeting in 2013.
D) The first thing he has said publicly about UKIP(as far as i know) was when he posted on here back in May that he welcomed the success of UKIP at the European Elections.

I don't think theirs enough split Tory voters to carry the day for ukip
I cannot see enough split old labour voters, going to vote for the rebranded conservative to ukip candidates, and the labour party machine will spend the cash pointing them all out.
Would have been better with fresh ukip no baggage candidates.

They do seem to have become a rest home for disgruntled blues which must be at odds with many of their newer members.
The rumour going around is that Andrew will be chosen as council candidate for my ward, not a very good move if true.

What makes you think that HowardHe lives in the ward very knowledgable ,plenty of experience young and a family man.He worked hard with me in River and was very good in theCouncil Chamber .A man of principle. He left River to concentrate on his job.No I'm not defecting to UKIP but sometimes you vote for the person.Three member ward .Always been a split vote .You used to have two Liberals in the ward before your time no doubt .

This is the result from last time Sue. The late Diane has been replaced by Peter Wallace who has worked two thirds of the ward tirelessly since being elected 3 years ago and will get the most votes. Should Roger decide to stand again he will get elected on the basis of his record. The remaining place will be taken by a red or blue candidate as the figures below suggest.
Maxton, Elms Vale and Priory
Name of Candidate Description (if any) Number of Votes
HEMINGWAY Mark Roy Conservative Party Candidate 944
JONES Susan Jane The Labour Party Candidate 988 Elected
REVELL Viviane Jane The Labour Party Candidate 945
SHERRATT Patrick George Conservative Party Candidate 900
SMALLWOOD Diane Gloria The Labour Party Candidate 979 Elected
WALKDEN Roger Stephen Conservative Party Candidate 980 Elected
Vacant Seats: 3 Electorate: 5,449 Ballot Papers Issued: 2,090 Turnout: 38.36%

Not the first time he has made these statements without producing any evidence, time for him to put up or shut up.

He does make a lot of these kind of statements and instead of backing them up moves on to another subject. Time someone actually challenged them in the courts!

Has anyone had a serious look at the green party manifesto? Read and weep, or laugh or just roll eyes in disbelief that these people walk amongst us. They really are from another planet but are seen somehow as being gentle, right on, if a little misguided, and generally benign.
Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact many of their policies reflect those of labour.
Utter loons.

Indeed Philip but they are very unlikely to build on their one MP under the first past the post system whilst UKIP could have ten and form part of a coalition if current forecasts are correct.

But if they stand in the right places they could take the disillusioned labour vote as at times they seem more to the left than many of the present labour lot.

I am quite in sympathy with their aims Jan, just find it strange how they go about things. The latest one is to sack the head of policy making because he hadn't come up with any policies.
Candidates are going door to door and can't answer a lot of questions put to them because of this.

That might explain the ukip election pamphlet that arrived this week, an out of date tirade about cost of living and the NHS and apparently David likes watching football, all very inspiring to the undecided voter.

I don't know who is coming out the worst here UKIP or Dave and his party, both seem to welcome everyone without checking their CV's.
