My legs were not that good last night so stayed up and watch it happen UKIP done it with easy getting more then 3000votes over the blues, the reds also lost ground and LEB/DEM OUT OF IT WITH ONLY a few 100votes .
UKIP are now in 3rd place as a main party .As you know next year it happens all over again can UKIP hold the two seats they have again ? yes to that and more long side them KENT WILL BE THEIR POWER HOUSE .Not much more to say about this till the New year. But it is a big wake up call to the main two partys blues and reds and in my way of thinking they needed it now they are going to have to act on what the public say and not what they want to do or they will out on their own. They are there to act on what us the public want and do.
So well done to UKIP just hope the MPs that join up with UKIP ,well we wait and see. Thank you.

Closer than I expected, not the euphoria that UKIP were hoping for today.

I was expecting a much wider margin of victory as were the bookies who paid out over a week ago.
The blues will be confident of winning the seat back next May when the turnout will be a lot higher.

Really?
Cameron said they'd throw the kitchen sink at this, he visited 5 times himself. No way will they be able to do that in May.
And what sort of candidate will they put up in May, I can't see anyone with ambition risking their career by taking on Reckless.

Nothing can be taken away from UKIP's victory, 271 on their winnable list after all.
Next May will be very different when traditional red and blue voters return to their parties and the blue candidate(who I thought seemed highly capable) will not be encumbered with Dave and his cronies upsetting the locals.
Reckless is not highly regarded locally like Carswell in Clacton and I fully expect the blues to regain the seat.

I would have thought that Red and Yellow would be worried the most come May, they have to win back their supporters from those that switched to UKIP .

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

UKIP were not as far ahead as expected so the Blues have not got as much of a problem as the Reds, who got less votes than I thought they would.
All parties must be worried but a lot can happen prior to next May.

Both the by elections would have been more of a pointer if it was not the previous sitting MP standing, certainly all to play for next year
