Ah gosh...I knew this one. You beat me to it Humphy but well done.
Yes its that bit of land newly reclaimed between Morrisons and the River...various bodies knocked it into shape and there was an official launch. Here is a picture of the Mayor herself Sue Jones and Mayoress Ronnie Philpott sitting on that very seat as shown by Howard there, taken at said launch. So it is sittable on...but not for any length of time I shouldnt think. I believe the land is owned by Netto.

At the other end nearer the railway the houses have some sort of metal basket under the windows. Walking along there with the sun in my eyes I banged my head and had a nasty gash which needed hospital treatment. I was only four!
