I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Now now, I don't come on for a couple of days and look what happens to my thread!
I must confess I am now getting extremely nervous and wondering if I can do this thing on Sunday. Especially with the weather today, I really hope it does not rain heavily, that will be horrid to run in. I also do not want it to be too hot like it was the last 2 times I did it. At the moment the forecast is for heavy rain
Fundraising is still going well, up to £2168 and people are still sponsoring me and entering my sweepstake. I have had to open a third sheet of times, so there are now three prizes. There is still time to enter or to sponsor me. I'm going for £2500 now!
The forecast was for heavy rain today also and while there was some rain...it was only enough to keep a marathon runner nice and cool.
Perhaps Brian could be your back-up? No!?
You will be just fine Claire, you are already the Dover Forum Champion.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.
Hmm thanks Tom, looks like it could still be quite warm during the day. Really puzzled now about what to wear
was thinking about my rain jacket which is great for keeping you dry, but it gets uncomfortable when its warm.
Fundraising....OH YES 110% !!! Now at £2203.
Keep it coming please !!!
I am printing off my Justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/Claire-J-Jones to put in a card for my grandmother tomorrow morning, she is going to be SO IMPRESSED!!! I wonder if it can go any higher before the morning!
Hi Caire , one of my collegues is running her first London Marathon at the weekend too , she is as nervous as you , but this is one event where turning up and starting is enough ! You will achieved more than 99% of the population by just standing there , the outcome is the outcome. You have achieved, by your determination and the manner you have championed The Stroke Association , any thing else is pure bonus !!!!!
Go Claire
Thank you Sarah that does certainly help to put it in perspective ad has given me a real boost. Good luck to your colleague
They have how published the tracking page so anyone who is interested can track me (or any other runner) around the course. it will be active from 7am on Sunday.
Hehe! The Great North Run, the world's biggest half marathon, on 16th September, and the Great South Run (10 miles) on 28th October, both for the MS Society.
Thanks to further generosity I was able to print off the page for my grandmother showing £2223, and it has since risen today to £2268!!! Still rising....
Oh yes, yesterday when I was out and about, strolling along Sun-kissed pavements, just another bright spring day. That is to say the cloud-bursts and torrential downpours, happily, only happened when I was snug indoors. Today, though, has been equally sunny and entirely rain free.
I have checked and there is not the least shower expected until three in the afternoon. So...all systems go, go, go Claire.
I had planned to go down-town and 'enjoy' the event come rain or shine, but alas my grumpy old "Uncle Jack" is playing me up.
Not to worry. I am sure I have a cosy armchair around somewhere and a voice that carries so I will have to settle for the TV coverage.
All the very best for tomorrow and although it is not in the least about PBs I am certain you will do us all here, (and the stroke association) and 'granny' proud.
P.S.
Should there be more than one tu-tu on display I will be looking out for the wearer with a broad smile on her face.

Aaah thanks Tom! Yes I am feeling much more confident about the weather and therefore the whole experience. I am ready, will be going to bed shortly as up at 5am!
I will let you know how I get on but you can track me (or any other runner) using the link in post number 90.
Fundraising up to £2278 now. Keep it coming please....
Thank you everyone for your fantastic support. See you on the other side of the finishing line
Good luck Claire for today. Couldn't do it myself. I'm sticking to my bike and taking part in the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton on 27 May - doing the night time ride this time so I will get to Brighton for breakfast on the pier. Linda
