you make a point of criticising some but don't seem to be able to take flak yourself.

Howard I'll take flak all day if its justified, I'll ask you the same question Keith is struggling with:
Are you happy with the regeneration of Dover?
If Keith wants to criticise the market its his prerogative, I'd like to know what he bases it on

you are being unnecessarily touchy david, i get flak on here for my voluntary role, i get stopped in the street and told how useless i am, forums are formed for just that purpose - some people even make the effort to look me up in the telephone directory to pour abuse down the phone line whilst withholding their number.

David, to get an honest answer out of Keef you will have to build him a fence.

daft question to ask though peter, who would be happy - i don't see any constructive suggestions to hasten things along though.

Well I will state the bleedin obvious.
When potential investors visit the town lets make sure that the people doing the selling on our behalf, whether its Cineworld, M&S, Travelodge, Asda etc are competent enough to convince and attract large businesses.
That the appearance of the town is welcoming to visitors.
That sighage encourages the millions of vistors into the town centre not just the castle
That the end of Bench Street looks attractive not like Beirut.
That DDC stops making excuses and pulls down Burlington House etc
That it accepts the inward investment and builds a cable car.
Thats a start, what about you PaulB?

I started this thread because DDC is incapable of regenerating the town, interesting a 25 year councillor is defending them.

David
im just trying to find where i defended the council.
I definatly havnt(unless they do any good)
on other threads i have been very critical of the planning dept who are one of the depts that are stopping dovers regeneration, by not being look ahead enough.
iv also at regular intervals been critical of cllrs and the council in general
but this is not about me
but good as a red herring

Howard, go to Tottenham's ground and see the progress they've made in the last year, ditto Arsenal, professional people who know how to get a job done. Buy a building, knock it down, develop it, it goes on everywhere everyday.
Keith, what is this closet you refer to?
I'm convinced you are incapable of answering a straightfoward question.

Well I agree with all that but we have been saying that for years. Nothing new there.( post 30)
The real generation will have to come from outside sources. Take the Sea Change money for example. i was with Margaret Hodge when she came here to officially re-open the revamping of the castle keep and the new seafront. She came to see how the money had been spent and was very pleased to see it, as it was terrific regeneration..look at the seafront now and look at the keep..splendid. But it was external money essentially as i remember.
But it is simplicity itself to bash DDC when they are clearly outgunned on a regeneration that would cost millions if not billions is not sensible. Locally we cant afford to regenerate on anything like the scale needed. HMG must be the source of it. Step forward the MP our only hope.
