I walked back from the seafront to the town about 2.45 today and the queue from that roundabout was stretching BACK to the docks as far as I could see. Some lorry drivers had been there long enough to be getting out of their cabs to try to see what was going on.

There is a meeting in House of Commons on Monday 2nd Feb , Committee Rm 7 , 3pm -5pm to discuss Operation Stack, A20 blockages & traffic management issues .
All parties affected or causing the problems , apart from the Ruler above who controls the weather, should be present.

No doubt the CFDT will be there in force, Paul? (Not!).

I am in a fairly optimistic mood today so I suppose a meeting is better than nothing, we just have to hope that it actually produces a solution that is implemented sooner rather than later.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Paul Carter of KCC fame will have to be quick then because there's a meeting re Manston over at Portcullis House at 1600 same afternoon and he's down as a witness for that as well. East Kent seems to feature large in the committee and meeting rooms of Westminster on Monday.

Just providing the info Brian. We're with you. More will be achieved away from the meeting but it may just lay down a few parameters.
Neil, you are correct. Roger Gale v Paul Carter should be interesting.
