Common sense means the refugees do not need loads of clothes sent as they simply can not carry much only the real essentials.
From the above article 'What they need is nappies, sanitary towels, blankets, really useful things that have a one time use - consumables I guess.' The locals might also be in need non perishable food to help feed the refugees and medicines that the country might be in danger of running out of.
