 - Just been to voteVery quiet. No tellers.I consider KCC elections very important as that's where most of our tax goes.County are responsible for so many aspects of our lives.Social Care,Education,Transport to name but a few .

 - Post 182: well you can stay amazed since I didn't know that - I thought the two areas were just chopped up into bits. Anyway, the sun came out so I went and did the responsible thing; in deference to post 175 I positively spoiled both papers. - (Not my real name.)

No tellers at mine either. The problem with County is that few people know who their Councillors are unlike at District. Town level gets a lot of headlines due to the idiosyncracies of the members even though they are responsible for very little. Maidstone is very remote and frankly unaccountable and as it is basically a one party state of little interest to the public.

 -  Sue Nicholas wrote:- Never ceases to amaze me that people don't understand KCC has divisions and District Councils have wards .Here in River we have been used to one KCC Councillor now we will have two as we are part of Dover who ever he or she may be .Doesnt help as the two male candidates surname begins with the same letter as does the two female candidates.

Beginning of the end for River Sue now it has been sucked into Dover Town, bad habits will be picked up at will and believe me we have some pretty disgusting ones around here.

 - Early results show the Tories winning back seats lost to UKIP last time and also gaining some from Labour. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-39810488

 - Unfortunately KCC elections are of such little consequence to most people that they can be overshadowed by a traffic jam on the M20, we only had one flyer through the door and all it did was tell us how poor the other party were and how we are great but full of lies and half truths, two spoilt ballot papers here sadly. - Button likes this - Arte et Marte

 - Labour will be seriously disappointed with that result in what should be a safe ward. The Tory candidate did not even canvass but came within 7 votes. - Keith Sansum1 likes this

 - Apparently Pauline Beresford and Nigel Collor have ousted Gordon Cowan and Pam Brivio at KCC Dover Town.

 - Ann Napier won in Maxton, Elms Vale and Priory for Labour in DDC by-election and it looks as if the Tories will take Labour seats in Deal at KCC.
