It's a grey day here in Buckland ward and the question before me is: should I vote in the District Council election? Bit of a toughie, this. To take the Conservative candidate's job application, his fellows have: campaigned against the Calais jungle and for a Dover Patrol, stopped the port being sold to the (much-maligned) French, fixed the railway sooner than the railwaymen could and seen Labour voted off the Town Council. Oh, and we have a new hospital and one less office block. Do I feel inspired with the prospects for ward and district - well, not on the basis of the evidence presented.
