  The 'bongo-bongo' stuff is more telling than offensive. It shows a complete lack of focus, and an inability to see the world as it is. He does not seem to know his 'thingy' from his 'whats-it'.
  
  The latest I heard of our Overseas Development work was that the Government Department responsible was sort of privatised, given - more or less - to the major actors within it, greatly enriching the individuals concerned. Their focus has shifted onto making some sort of profit, from the building of shopping malls. Making lots of noise about attracting major brands.
  Not that their drive to outdo China came to anything.
  
  To say that aid money is being misspent is to misunderstand the real reason behind it. While we may be told that such money goes to help the poor in far-off lands is just so much soft-soap. Government aid money has long been simply a bung, a sweetener, for the powers that be. To encourage them to say nothing about Global Market rapine of local resources.
  i.e. the spending of what little tax is paid by such companies on oiling the wheels of their taxless trade.
  
  It is easy to see how attractive it all is to simply roll the eyes back into the head and speak of white forest dwelling antelopes, but then again, I am only one of the 'great unwashed'.
