Any fool can see how this story was planned some time ago and is yet another example of political tricks for a gullible public and media.
It's so obvious.

Indeed Howard. The machine is in full overdrive such is the concern by the British establishment who are positively wetting themselves in fear of a UKIP landslide. Expect more of this over the next week.
The funny thing is that no matter how many gaffes the various candidates representing UKIP make the more popular they seem to become. I'm no supporter of this party (although I'm not ruling out voting for them) but I'd go short on popcorn shares and sell them on election day afternoon.

Would you agree that this has been the worst election campaign ever Philip?
all the parties have been scouring social media for dirt on each others candidates with not even a hint of what their plans are if elected.
I have seen just one election poster in dover district which suggests that the great british public are totally underwhelmed by the whole thing.

I really couldn't answer that Howard. It's not a general election so it's got a different dynamic. In the past not many people cared for or even thought much about voting for their MEP - European politics was something which didn't affect them much (or so they thought muwhahahaha) but over time a head of steam has been building up and folk are starting to realise the erroneous effect that EU politics has on our everyday lives from the type of light bulb which you can legally buy to traffic regulations (oops sorry a bit previous there - that one will hit us over the next few years).
Once the Lisbon treaty was signed all bets were off and the likes of Bottler Brown, Save the planet Miliband and We're all gonna die from plant food Clegg were exposed as the utterly useless creatures they are the stage was set for someone like Farage to enter stage left ( or right perhaps).
Cameron's utterances on the European issue is so unconvincing that even his backbenchers know that it's no more than a pipe dream for him to say that he is able to reform the EU institutions. It just ain't gonna happen!
UKIP's ascendance may well peak post election all depending on the state of the economy and various other factors to numerous to mention or even foresee.

I think Philip is right here, the European institutions cannot be reformed and also the passion for ukip will dissipate after the euros and before the election when less populist issues come into play.
brian, if you are right then I am not English.

Great slogan opportunity there Alfie.......'UKIP are the pits.' It will probably toll a few bells and produce a wake!

Do nothing and nothing happens.
