Vic, at times of austerity what you say makes perfect sense. Like yourself, I do not point at any councillors but at the mathematical and financial futility of such institutions. The money saved together with the money in some deposit would indeed go quite some way to assist progress in this town. The expense of pomp, ceremony plus a building which costs us, the tax payers vast sums every year, surely is not the best investment when we are so affected by "having to make do". It is reported that we suffer the highest number of sex crimes too. Having more officers in uniform patrolling our streets to keep our already deprived children safe would indeed place me firmly at your side Vic. I am sure those who are employed by the town council at their offices could easily be placed elsewhere.
