  I think this is what a sizeable portion of the Syrian population has been doing, Alex. As a result they are being systematically hunted down and exterminated by Government forces. Neighbouring countries are totally saturated with Syrian refugees and do not have the basic infrastructure to deal with them - it's not just a matter of money.
  
  I would have thought that you of all people, as a committed Christian, would want to extend the hand of friendship to some of these oppressed people. A powerful tip I was once given by a relative (who happens to be a former Catholic priest) is, when faced with a moral dilemma, to ask oneself: 'What would Christ have done?'
