Lies, damned lies and statistics (contd.)
Commenting, Sir Andrew Green, Chairman of Migration Watch UK, said:
"Quarterly statistics fluctuate but these figures show an
increase of 28,000 Romanians and Bulgarians in employment
compared to the same period last year.
Most of this has occurred when transitional controls were still in place making it likely that there will be an increase in employment over the coming year now that controls have ended. This is consistent with our estimate of a 50,000 population increase from Romania and Bulgaria in each of the next five years."

What Alp did not pursue in this clip is the sampling error inherent in the sample used by the ONS to produce the latest dubious statistics, inasmuch as 75% of the sample was chosen pre 01/01/14 and therefore only 25% of the sample taken could have entered post that date.
Later this month the statistics for the issue of NI numbers should give a more realistic overview of the scale of Immigration from Bulgaria/Romania but of course they will not reflect those working in the 'black economy'.
