    I'm not sure I agree with the "there's a war on" argument (the 1944 Education Act, for example, suggests that parliamentary proceedings don't stop during conflicts), but the main problem with it is that it can easily get mistaken for the "he's said he's sorry and so doesn't have to go at all" view of life.

    But help is at hand. All Tory MPs (or at least those who are not suffering from LMF) need do is to say they want to see him step down as an MP when the Ukrainian conflict is over, or at the next General Election, whichever is the sooner. Simples.
