Peter
we often can agree/disagree on a wide selection of topics.
now, we get to your latest view point, I would like to give an alternative view.
You state that instead of cllrs lets have civil servants.
you are also under the impression they are better qualified for the job
On both of these counts I disagree.
Dover has stumbled along, not through any politician interference, but officers not up to the task in hand,
to do away with cllrs(some who question officers, and keep officers on the right track) would be a wrong move.
In the past iv been opposed to unitary authorities, but i am warming to the idea.
less councils, less expense, less big wages, less wastage
which would be way forward
