Latest "UK Polling Report" polling for Dover has Mike Tapp on 48.5%, with Natalie Elphicke on 39.5%.
Long way to go.

That's not how the local Dover Tories operate Sue.
Caused a lot of bad feeling when she was 'selected' last time and I think even the leader of DDC stepped down as he wasn't given a fair chance.

I heard that that was the reason for his resignation at the time but thought it might be speculation. This is only the second time I've heard reference to it.

Always felt like the hope was that Charlie would be cleared and then Natalie could stand down for him. Rest is history I guess.

Quite concerning that even as unpopular as she is, she's still running the Labour guy close!
That should be of concern for Neil.
I'm hearing the chairman has a great deal of power in the local assoc
Doesn't appear to be a very democratic process, but surely you would know process Sue?

Mrs E waiting to see what will turn up first: a bus or her bus pass
Seriously, here's a link to her HoC speech on raising the state pension age (again) and which I thought was rather good

The above photo came with the message 'When I met with the @StagecoachSE
senior team recently in Deal, they told me that the Government’s £2 bus fare had made a real difference to getting people back on the buses'.
This was of course a couple of days after DDC announced that their new and improved service to Aylesham and villages (though not Aycliffe obviously!) provided by Stagecoach would cost £3.50 a pop.

Indeed. I don't qualify for a full pension, and have the option to buy extra years to make it up. I won't bother now as it's always getting further and further out of reach.

Just e-mailed Mrs E asking for evening buses to Aycliffe to be reinstated. Pointed out a few things like woman having to walk from town after work along a the A20 at night which is dangerous. Asked if she would like to walk the smelly dirty road with lorries thundering pass at 40 mph..
I also pointed they can spent millions of pounds on one bus route from Dover Priory to Whitfield but to save £33,000 pounds cut evening buses to Aycliffe. Why not reinstate evening buses to Aycliffe and when the route is complete extend it to Aycliffe.. joined up thinking
I waiting for a reply with usual excuses
