This BBC hat business. Does it make the national broadcaster a left-wing conspiracy or a right-wing conspiracy?
Politics aside, I think JC carries a hat rather well compared to, say
or
But then I'd agree that no serious states-person would wear one when representing his or her country.

Poor old Jezza is coming under the hammer for being allegedly anti-Semitic. The party could of course amend their banners to read "for the many not the Jew", wouldn't cost much at the printers.

Your unnecessary tacky comment is not funny Howard and I suspect could upset a Jewish reader.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I doubt it Jan the slogan was selected by a Jewish group campaigning against anti Semitism in the Labour party.

Another smoke screen. I have campaigned alongside and promoted the campaigns of many Jewish and those of other (and indeed of no) religious persuasions.
Isn't it peculiar that whenever Labour inch ahead in the polls, the media invent another brickbat to beat Corbyn with? After all, he is the most peace-promoting political leader (of a major party) I've ever known - how is it that anti-semitism gets levelled at him and believed?

When you consider that the Jewish Leadership Council's VIPs include Blairites such as Lord Levy and venture capitalist Ronald Cohen, Tory ex-treasurer Stanley (Baron) Fink and current Tory treasurer and CEO Sir Mick Davis, I think you may have a point there, BD.
Also it seems to have escaped the attention of the mainstream media, who were falling over themselves to embarrass Corbyn, that Jonathan Arkush, President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and main spokesperson for the protest, has addressed a rally at which the Jewish Defence League (an organisation considered terrorist by the FBI) had very prominent representatives. Funny that. Had it been Corbyn speaking to Hamas members I imagine we would have heard rather a lot about it.
Strangely, less than a year ago Arkush appeared more relaxed about the prospect of PM Corbyn. He was reported in The Times of Israel (9 June 2017) as saying that, had Corbyn won the election ‘I don’t think we’d have necessarily liked his attitude to Israel, but I don’t think he presents a threat to the Jewish community.'

A communist spy, an IRA supporter & a racist walk into a pub. The barman says, “What are you drinking tonight Mr Corbyn?”

Rare to see the words 'Blair' and 'conscience' in the same sentence.

Replace 'Rare' with 'Oxymoron'.

If Sir Tony was still in charge Labour would be around 20% ahead of the Tories in the opinion polls but with the likeable but hapless Jezza the parties are neck and neck.

And there would be no alternative to austerity or a solution to neo-liberal excesses or a change to the status quo which does not favour the average subject of the UK. You can understand why the electorate say "...what's the point in voting? They are all the same..." when you are just offered a group of Armani suits vs a different group of Gucci suits.

I don't remember any austerity from 1997 to 2010, Minimum wage brought in with working tax credits took a lot of low paid workers out of poverty.

Ed Milliband's manifesto was austerity-lite. I agree that 'New' Labour did a lot of good but they, in my opinion, had a opportunity to redress many social inequalities but didn't.
Late in 2002 Lady Thatcher came to Hampshire to speak at a dinner for me. Taking her round at the reception one of the guests asked her what was her greatest achievement. She replied, 'Tony Blair and New Labour. We forced our opponents to change their minds'." - changing your mind, more like reneging on your core principles.

Thought provoking blog in the Grauniad, the difference is that one was highly electable in my view.
