    It always seems alright for paymasters to offer 2% pay rises across the workforce when 2% of £12k means not much in comparison to 2% of £120+k, then he hear this bleating argument about a 40% tax rate. Don't forget that the 40% tax rate is only applied to the surplus earnings above the already affluent threshold.

    Wasn't it fitting that exec pay surpassed the median wage on epiphany?!
