I like your style Vic, on one hand you bemoan the lot of us Senior Citizens, plead poverty and then suggest joining, the British Legion to boost funds!
I know what you meant but in your usual style you eventually get your point across.
You should really consider using your knowledge to help the youngsters prepare for the future which to them is light years away. Having said that, help them in any constructive way you can but, allow them to migrate into 'doers' to shape their own destiny,
The 'them and us' attitude is counter productive and solves nothing.
The world is a different place today from when the older generation were young. There were no mobile phones, computers or the plethora of electronic gadgets that we have today so we invented them, sit back and marvel at what this has led to....you may yet see an electric zimmer in your lifetime and then you can burn your walking sticks to keep warm!
Use your energies to enjoy what you have earned in a lifetime.....forget the past and enjoy the future. Let them canvass for the votes and hope that they use them wisely and provide a better future for themselves and YOUR grandchildren.
