The appalling events of last Saturday have been discussed on other threads.I flagged up in October 2015,that the hooligans of the Far right and Far Left seem to assume that Dover needs a Marching season similar to Northern Ireland..
On page 8 of the Dover Express today,the RT Rev Bishop of Dover said the Rally was the town at its best and Ms Diane Abbott MP Labour Shadow Cabinet member described the White Cliffs of Dover as Racist Rocks and Mr Cameron should tear down the Cliffs.Is it only me who finds the comments reportedly made by the Bishop and Ms Abbott to be insulting and bizarre?
The Bishop of Dover has clearly a connection with Dover.. .What connection has Ms Abbott got with Dover?
Who invited Diane?The invite must have been sent by the local Labour party to Labour Head Office..In my experience,leaders of a party do not just turn up on away day and Ms Abbott is a senior figure of the Labour party.Who supplied her with directions ,who to meet,contacts,telephone numbers.
I am not blaming the Right Rev or the Shadow Cabinet Minister and others at the peaceful rally in Market Square for the violence that followed afterwards but it was very naive of the organizers who included Labour KCC,Dover District,Town Cllrs to advertise the confrontation and it was a confrontation, to all and sundry without expecting Fascists of Left and Right to converge on the Town for a brawl.
Over 3 weeks ago John McDonnell MP the Shadow Chancellor went to a meeting of Momentum in Ramsgate. Momentum group consists of Labour party Members,Socialist Worker Party members,Antifa,Unite against Fascists and other far left groups.The the event that evidently took place last Saturday were discussed between the Shadow Chancellor and Dover Labour Cllrs/members and others..A week later Mr McDonnell went on the BBC on Sunday and said that in the near future,there will be no nation states and no borders.
In the space of 4 weeks Dover and nearby have had the pleasure of 2 Shadow Cabinet Ministers visiting.
