  Unfortunately this thread is getting us nowhere, especially with migrants and refugees being confused as if they are the same thing. This thread has only confirmed my opinion that a politician will never give a simple straight answer and they put their party and their dictates before what their constituents want.
  
  Europe have discovered what happens when you have open borders, it lets every Tom, Dick and Harry into their respective countries regardless of whether they are needed or wanted. I would hate that to happen in this country, we have to have a choice about who we allow to come and settle here.
  
  We are a relatively small country with only so much space unlike many other EU countries.
