It is always wrong to generalise an entire generation. There are plenty of ignorant, disengaged youngsters around, who really should take a greater interest in the world, but there are also many who are smart, switched on and very much engaged. There are also, however also plenty of naive, complacent, and indeed sometimes monumentally stupid older people. Whatever you might believe, the older generation does not have a monopoly on wisdom. The past week has proved that.
