Alexander, I am grateful for the economics master class. As I stated in my previous post, I was under the (obviously mistaken) impression that the Single Market had economic benefits to the UK economy. Thankfully, Howard, Keith and yourself have showed me the error in my thinking. I am pleased that leaving the single market will have so few negative consequences for our economy. I must admit my surprise that, for example, Germany and France will not impose tariffs on exports from the UK , even if those goods are produced more cheaply in this country by companies not constrained by the EU regulations so many people complain about (the work-time directive for example). But as I have said, I now understand I am wrong.
