Neither D Hannent or N Collor were town councillors at the time of the Love Dover/Dickens corner saga came about but have never given a public opinion until election time.

I have lost all confidence in how DDC works. I went to a scrutiny meeting in Nov 2017 about improving parking up Aycliffe.. I put my case forward and they agreed to improving parking up Aycliffe. They agreed to meet me after shortly after the meeting.. It took till last Dec 2018 for a councillor to visit me.. John Heron has be on their case just to get that meeting.. I am still waiting for the next meeting.. I get a few e-mails but about another meeting but I am still waiting for a second meeting.. You can see why I have lost faith in DDC.. The only reason they contacted me because of John Heron..

Unfortunately John is only a councillor for three more days we will have to wait and see if the new ones show an interest.

As a councillor I have been unable over the past year, having previously been put off with excuses that I should wait until completion, to get any report either written or verbal before Scruitiny relating to the financing of St James or its 'project management'.
With the new council I expect this to all be swept under the carpet with no 'lessons learnt as with the scandal of the White Cliffs Experience.

I also chase up street cleaning issues or lack off at Aycliffe for months. I put in a complaint virtually ever week after the refuse collectors had been round including photos. John Heron was on the case well. Took him ages to get a response and the response from the person in charge... what complaints or words to that effect. He even said he had been round and could not see any litter.. I had photographic proof.. our refuse collection was on a Friday so litter was quite often left on the streets over the weekend sometimes till Tuesday.. so you can see why I have no confidence in DDC. Shame John is not standing again..

That's why I urge everyone to vote only for active cllrs. There are a few
John showed what can be done
But unless you vote the same old will return
This is your chance on mass to vote against the 2 major parties and let them wat your thinking

 Sue
You must be as you were the first to be critical and not for the first time your friend n collor
In priory over the years we have suffered absent cllrs
Even though as a community we involve all cllrs
So electing same old is no gd for the community
That's factual
